EDITING LAB

CEOS.PP has created a new platform with the aim of supporting the editorial teams of CEOS scientific publications and promoting scientific culture among ISCAP students. The Editing LAB aims to integrate trainees and researchers into the editing, proofreading, translation and layout process.




The CEOS Editions bring together a wide range of publications by CEOS.PP researchers in the various areas of knowledge to which they are dedicated, as well as publications that integrate the research and results of the centre's numerous projects.




The Editing LAB his is a voluntary service that includes trainees and researchers and aims to support the editorial teams in the process of publishing journals, books, conference proceedings and research notebooks that are the responsibility of the Centre.CEOS.PP.


The CEOS Editions are published in two supports:

  1. Plataform OJS Editions CEOS: Books, Books of Proceedings, Books of Abstracts, Research Notebooks, Scientific Journals.

  2. Site CEOS.PP: other publications


Objectivs:

— Optimisation and standardisation of publication formatting, in accordance with submission rules and APA standards;

— Translation of articles;

— OJS editorial management support: submission, copy editing and publication;

— Optimising the editorial process;

— Greater speed and quality in the publication of texts..

Descrição de Funções:

Proofreader: It reviews the content to assess the strengths and weaknesses of the submitted manuscript, writing style, clarity and organisation in the transmission of ideas and concepts, suggesting changes where applicable. In the case of book submissions and/or manuscripts already accepted for publication, the reviewer detects typos, grammatical errors and formatting problems before publication.​

Translator: Responsible for translating texts, where applicable.


Copy Editor: It focuses on grammar, style and coherence, ensuring that the written content is error-free. It follows and applies the Style Guides, formatting, referencing and bibliographic citation rules of each publication.


editorial assistant:

works directly with the publication's Editorial Board and assists in the planning, management and implementation of publications. Their responsibilities unite editorial and administrative tasks, including programme meetings with the Editorial Board, managing the EditingLab team and managing deadlines. Each publication should have an Editorial Assistant.​


Requisits:

— Ease of interpersonal relationships;

— Ability to work as part of a team;

—Autonomy and a spirit of initiative;

—High sense of responsibility.

- Ability to pay attention to detail and analyse details.

- Writing skills with zero tolerance for spelling mistakes (mandatory).

- Ability to meet deadlines.

- Work in a structured and methodical manner and be able to follow instructions; - Knowledge of MsOffice (required).

- Knowledge and application of APA referencing and citation standards (can learn after recruitment) (required)

-Degree in Translation Consultancy.

- Degree in Documentation and Information Sciences and Technologies.

- Degree in Business Communication.

- Postgraduate Diploma in Language Services.

- Postgraduate Diploma in Technical Communication.

- Master's Degree in Administration Consultancy.

- Master's Degree in Digital Communication Consultancy.
