Research Seminar: Engaging with the Accounting Community, organised by Professor Joan Ballantine, took place as part of an initiative developed by professors Cláudia Teixeira and Ana Maria Bandeira (ISCAP- IPP), Patrícia Gomes and Sónia Monteiro (IPCA), and Graça Azevedo (ISCA-UA).
Professor Ballantine is Vice-President of the British Accounting and Finance Association (BAFA) and a member of the Education Committee of the European Accounting Education (EAA). She is also a member of the editorial board of several scientific journals, including the Journal of Accounting Education and Accounting Education. Thus, the Research Seminars ‘Engaging with the Accounting Community’ (17 September) and ‘Opportunities to Publish in Accounting Education’ (20 September) made it possible to explore the context of research networks in Accounting and Finance and their benefits; and the opportunities for publishing in the field of accounting education. During her time at ISCAP-IPP, Joan Ballantine also took part in sessions from the Research Methodologies and Thematic Seminars curricular units of the Master's in Accounting and Finance.
The event, which took place on 17 September in ISCAP's Grand Auditorium, is part of the activities carried out by CEOS.PP's Sustainability and Social Business research group and is part of ISCAP-IPP's internationalisation mission.
