About the Event
On July 14 and 15, 2025, ISCAP - Instituto Superior de Contabilidade e Administração do Porto will host the III International Conference on Humanities and Social Sciences: AI for Humanity, bringing together academics, researchers and professionals to debate the impact of Artificial Intelligence on the humanities and social sciences.
With the theme “Interdisciplinary Approaches to Ethical, Cultural and Social Change”, the event will discuss issues such as ethics, governance and responsible AI, human values in the age of AI, social justice and equity, cultural diversity, education and human-centered innovation, promoting critical reflection on the role of AI in research, public policy-making and the development of fairer and more inclusive societies.
Participants will have the opportunity to explore how AI can contribute to cultural preservation, digital inclusion and the advancement of education, while discussing the associated risks, such as algorithmic bias, data privacy and lack of transparency in automated decisions. The conference seeks to promote an interdisciplinary dialog and generate concrete recommendations for a more ethical and responsible use of technology.
In order to encourage the participation of the academic and professional community, the organization has postponed the deadline for submitting abstracts until April 14, 2025, and those interested can submit their work via the official website https://hss25.sciencesconf.org/.
The event's coordinators, Alexandra Albuquerque and Karima Bouziane, stress the importance of ensuring that AI is used to strengthen cultural diversity, creativity and social justice, promoting a positive impact in different areas of knowledge.
