About the Event

FCEP/UTP — the Faculty of Business Sciences at the Technical University of Porto (the new name for ISCAP/IPP), in collaboration with CEOS.PP, UPCA (CICF) and ISCA-UA, is organising a Research Seminar featuring Professor Valentina Beretta from the University of Pavia (Italy).


The event will take place on 17 September at 2.30 pm at FCEP/UTP (ISCAP) and will focus on the topic Integrated reporting: developing an injustice assessment framework and a research agenda. On 18 September, the guest speaker will also lead the session Sustainability Reporting as a field of research: Critical Perspectives on Accountability and Inclusion, as part of the  UPCA & ISCA-UA Doctoral Programme in Accounting.


The sessions provide an opportunity for scientific exchange and discussion on integrated reporting, with a particular focus on developing a framework for assessing injustice and defining a research agenda in this area. The presence of the researcher from the University of Pavia will help to strengthen academic and scientific dialogue between higher education institutions and promote research collaboration.


The events are the result of a joint initiative between FCEP/UTP, CEOS.PP, UPCA (CICF) and ISCA-UA, reflecting these institutions’ commitment to internationalisation, scientific cooperation and the creation of opportunities for the exchange of knowledge.


About the speaker:

Valentina Beretta is a Senior Researcher at the Department of Economics and Management, University of Pavia. She is a Professor of “Sustainability Reporting, Governance and Ethics” and “Business Administration”. Her research focuses on corporate reporting, sustainability disclosure, health technology assessment, and healthcare management. She is one of the founders and proposing members  Study Group “Equità e inclusione in contabilità, controllo di gestione, governance e revisione aziendale” (EIREA) of SIDREA (Società Italiana dei Docenti di Ragioneria e di Economia Aziendale). She co-coordinates the EU-funded project “DIGital Skills for Transformative Innovation Management and Entrepreneurship (DIGI-ME)” and contributed to various national and international projects. She has been a visiting scholar at several EU and non-EU universities and institutions. Her research has been published in journals such as,  Accounting, Auditing & Accountability Journal, Social Responsibility Journal, Business Strategy and the Environment, Accounting & Finance, and Meditari Accountancy Research. Currently, Valentina is guest editor for the Special Issue on "Sustainability Education: Preparing Future Leaders for a Better World" of Sustainability Accounting, Management and Policy Journal; for the Special Issue on "Are Equity and Inclusion achievable? How equity and inclusion are understood, operate and develop in accounting" of Meditari Accountancy Research; as well as for the Special Issue on "The role of social capital in knowledge management" of  VINE Journal of Information and Knowledge Management Systems.
