About the Event

The relation between scientific research, technological innovation and industrial application is at the heart of the 4th International Symposium on Blockchain and Cybersecurity – RIBCi–CYTED 2026, which will take place on 16 and 17 November in Porto, in a hybrid format, with both in-person and online participation.

Organised by CEOS.PP and FCEP – the Faculty of Business Sciences at the Technical University of Porto, in collaboration with the Ibero-American Blockchain and Cybersecurity Network (RIBCi), part of the CYTED Programme, the event brings together researchers, professionals, entrepreneurs, public decision-makers and students to discuss the advances and challenges in digital security and decentralised technologies.

Under the motto ‘From science to industry: building secure and decentralised ecosystems’, the symposium promotes interdisciplinary dialogue and the sharing of knowledge between academia, business and the public sector, encouraging technology transfer and the development of secure and scalable digital solutions.

The programme covers various areas of research and application, including the use of blockchain in business contexts, its transfer to industry, international trade and digital markets. Also highlighted are cybersecurity governance, collaboration between academia, industry and public administration, distributed ledger technologies (Distributed Ledger Technologies – DLT) and the ethical, legal and social challenges of artificial intelligence.

The initiative provides an opportunity to bring together different scientific and professional communities, promote discussion of specific projects and applications, and strengthen international cooperation in the fields of digital transformation, blockchain and cybersecurity.

The organisation of the symposium forms part of the scientific cooperation work carried out by CEOS.PP within the framework of international research networks, helping to build bridges between academic knowledge and the technological and organisational challenges facing society.
