New Paradigms of the Portuguese Language Among Generation Z: TLDR?

The Trends Hub'26 welcomes Joana Castro Fernandes, coordinating lecturer at ISCAP and researcher at CEOS.PP, for the session ‘New Paradigms of the Portuguese Language Among Generation Z: TLDR?’.

The event takes place on 11 May at 3.30 pm in the ISCAP Grand Auditorium and aims to explore Generation Z’s new forms of communication and the impact these have on the use of the Portuguese language, in digital, social and professional contexts alike. Abbreviated expressions, their own codes, and new dynamics of online writing and communication are part of a constantly changing reality; the session aims to reflect on these phenomena and foster a contemporary discussion on the evolution of language and the communication habits of the younger generations.
