About the Event
ISCAP is hosting the first edition of Pitch & Pulse – The Academic Brand Challenge, an event that combines the creative energy of the academic world with the strategic demands of the high-end corporate market, challenging students on the Bachelor’s Degree in Business Communication to present real-world advertising solutions for leading brands in the design sector.
Under the motto “Real Briefings. Raw Talent”, this innovative initiative has been launched with the clear aim of projecting the institution’s emerging talent directly into the business world. Over the last semester, students have delved into the Luxury Design ecosystem – a highly competitive and constantly expanding sub-sector, where brand narrative, sophistication and authenticity dictate the rules of the market. The challenge involved the analysis and meticulous development of Advertising Communication Strategies and Brand Activation Campaigns tailored to five of the most prestigious Portuguese brands with a strong international presence in the high-end design and furniture sector: Boca do Lobo (Exclusive Design); Castro Lighting; Ferreira de Sá (Luxury Rugs); Maison Foz; Stylish Club.
The event takes place on 1 June at the ISCAP campus, divided into two strategic sessions: the first from 11.30 am to 1.00 pm and the second from 2.00 pm to 3.30 pm. Each working group will have the opportunity to deliver an executive pitch to a demanding panel.
The event thus serves as a showcase of practical skills, testing the ability of future communication and marketing professionals to respond to the briefings and real-world challenges of these global brands.
The project benefits from the scientific and institutional support of CEOS.PP (Centre for Organisational and Social Studies at the Polytechnic Institute of Porto), reinforcing the academic world’s commitment to the production of applied knowledge and the creation of solid synergies with the business sector.
