His work examines how accounting information and systems influence organizational behaviour and decision-making, with particular focus on strategy implementation and sustainability performance. His teaching portfolio encompasses management control systems, management accounting, integrated accounting subjects, and research methods. Beyond his Monash responsibilities, Aldónio has contributed to executive education through Porto Business School's International MBA program (2008-2023) and held teaching positions at Portuguese Catholic University (1995-1998; 2002-2004) and the University of Porto (2002-2004).
