Associate Researcher
Senior lecturer at ISLA - IPGT (Polytechnic Institute of Management and Technology in Vila Nova de Gaia) with over 20 years teaching at Polytechnic of Porto schools (ISCAP - Porto Accounting and Business School and ESMAD - School of Media Arts and Design) . He is currently the director of the research centre at ISLA-IPGT, the director of the master's degree in Engineering of Technologies and Web Systems, director of the bachelor's degree in Informatics for Electronic Commerce, and he is also the director of the postgraduate course in Business Analytics and Data Science. He has over 35 years of professional experience working in companies where he has led numerous IT projects and departments (Telecom (Telecommunications), Credifin/Cetelem (Finance), Autosueco/NORS (Automotive), IBM (Technology) and BPI (Banking)). In parallel, he regularly provides professional IT training services at major companies where he promotes and teaches professional training courses in the areas of: Business Analytics (supported by Power BI - DAX/M); Data Modelling; E-Commerce, Project Management and Advanced Excel Spread Sheet. He holds a Bachelor of Computer Engineering from ISEP - Porto School of Engineering and a Master of Information Management from FEUP - Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto. He holds a PhD in Computer Science, with a specialisation in Service-Oriented Computing and Service Analytics from TU/e - Eindhoven University of Technology (The Netherlands). His main research interests are: Business Analytics and Data Science, Project Management (Waterfall and Agile methodologies), Enterprise Resource Planning Systems, Data Modelling, Blockchain, Service-Oriented Computing, E-Commerce, Industry 4.0 and Digital Transformation.
