Joana Castro Fernandes

Joana Castro Fernandes is a senior lecturer at ISCAP's Language department. She lectures Portuguese Linguistics, Semiotics and Communication Theory and coordinates the Portuguese subgroup. She holds a PhD in Linguistics granted by the NOVA University of Lisbon (School of Social and Human Sciences). Her main research interests range from General Linguistics, Terminology, Communication Studies to Teaching Portuguese as a second language. She regularly takes part in national and international conferences and collaborates as peer reviewer in Linguistics and Communication journals.
