José Pedro Teixeira Fernandes holds a Bachelor of Law and a PhD in Political Science and International Relations. He has published several articles in scientific journals and books in his areas of specialisation, including: O Regresso da Geopolítica; Elementos de Economia Política Internacional; and Teorias das Relações Internacionais: da Abordagem Clássica ao Debate Pós-Positivista. He is a member of the panel of international policy analysts / commentators of Jornal 2 of RTP. He is author of several articles of opinion and analysis of international issues in the written press, namely in Jornal Público.
