She holds a PhD in Education: Distance Education and E-Learning. She holds a PhD and postdoc in Educational Technologies, a Master of Computer Science and a Bachelor of Computer Science and Applied Mathematics. She has a postgraduate course in Adult Education. She was pro-president for E-Learning at the Polytechnic of Porto. She was responsible for the training centre and external services at ISCAP/Polytechnic of Porto. She was coordinator of the E-Learning and Pedagogical Innovation Unit of the Polytechnic of Porto (EIPP). She is responsible for GAIE - Office for Supporting Innovation in Education. She is director of ISCAP/P.PORTO's b-learning master's degree in Advisory in Digital Communication. She is currently a professor of Information Systems at the Porto Accounting and Business School/Polytechnic Institute of Porto, ISCAP/P.PORTO. She is a member of the Distance Learning Committee of A3ES (Agency for Assessment and Accreditation of Higher Education). Chairman and member of various external assessment committees for the accreditation of distance learning programmes. She is a member of GILT - Games, Interaction and Learning Technologies research centre at ISEP/P.PORTO. Since 2003, she has been developing research in the area of E/B-learning. She has taken on scientific responsibility for various national and international research projects in the area of E/B-Learning. She is member of scientific committees of various national and international conferences and initiatives in the field of E/B-Learning. She is a member of the editorial board and guest editor for several scientific journals. She has published books on Information Systems and E/B-Learning. She has carried out various research activities in the context of integrating web technologies into higher education, resulting in the publication of several scientific articles.
