Yana Baryshnikova Da Costa Marques

Yana holds a PhD in Comparative Modernities: Literatures, Arts, and Cultures (UMinho), aMaster's in Specialized Translation and Interpreting (ISCAP|P.PORTO) and a Bachelor's in Business Management (Kuban State University). She is an adjunct Professor at the Porto Accounting and Business School – Polytechnic Institute of Porto, in the area of Languages and Cultures. With experience in teaching foreign languages, she currently teaches Russian, English, and Translation. She teaches Portuguese as a non-native language (PLE) at the teaching center, working from beginner levels (A1) to intermediate levels (B2). She is also a translator with experience in technical texts and consecutive interpreting and the Coordinator of the international project Total Dictation and TruD Test in Porto, since 2019. Yana is a researcher at CEOS.PP and at the Center for Humanistic Studies of the University of Minho (CEHUM). Her research area is translation (Russian, Portuguese, and English), self-translation, intersemiotic translation, and intercultural studies.
