CEOS.PP at IPC & Science2Business Job Summit

CEOS.PP's Coimbra Hub took part in the third edition of the IPC & Science2Business Job Summit, which was held at the Convento São Francisco in Coimbra on April 1st. Organized by the Polytechnic Institute of Coimbra (IPC), this event brought together around 700 participants, including students, qualified professionals, researchers and more than 60 companies, with the aim of bridging the gap between the academic community and the job market.

Under the theme “Careers & Sustainability”, the initiative stood out for its promotion of entrepreneurship, innovation and employability, providing participants with networking opportunities, access to job offers and internships, as well as participation in discussion panels and workshops on topics relevant to their professional future.

At the opening session, Sara Proença, director of the INOPOL Entrepreneurship Academy, emphasized the growth and consolidation of the event, stressing that the Job Summit is a platform for fostering partnerships, encouraging talent and driving innovation. Jorge Conde, president of the IPC, stressed the importance of educational institutions differentiating themselves by their impact on the territory, working in partnership with companies and social institutions. José Manuel Silva, President of Coimbra City Council, noted the event's role in boosting the city's economy and science, emphasizing the need for continuous development supported by educational institutions and local innovation hubs.

The representative of the IPC's student associations, Mafalda Pinto, emphasized the importance of the proximity between students and companies, allowing participants to be active agents in the job market. She also mentioned that 92.6% of IPC graduates are employed, demonstrating the quality of the Polytechnic's schools.

The event featured various spaces for networking, such as the “Job Meet”, at which companies shared job offers and internships, and the “Speed Interview” area, dedicated to pitches for recruitment. One of the innovations of this edition was the “+Politécnico de Coimbra” space, where various areas of the IPC presented opportunities linked to entrepreneurship, sustainability, culture, sport and internationalization.

With this edition, the IPC & Science2Business Job Summit has established itself as an essential event for those looking to build a successful career and establish links with the professional world, reinforcing the commitment of the Polytechnic of Coimbra to bringing academia and the job market closer together.
