The AgroVila project was present at the HCI International 2024 conference, which took place in Washington. DC, from 1 to 4 July 2024, under the motto Human-Computer Interaction. CEOS.PP ‘s participation in this prestigious international event underlines its commitment to promoting innovation and collaboration in building user-centred communities and solutions.
Agrovila, represented by scholarship holder Fábio Couto (IPP-CEOS.PP), presented the paper Contributions for the Development of Personae: Method for Creating Persona Templates (MCPT), in the Design, User Experience, and Usability section of HCI International 2024.
This paper addresses a significant gap in the literature by proposing a structured, qualitative method for developing robust, data-driven persona templates. The MCPT method, tested and refined in the context of the AgroVila project, ensures that persona templates can be adapted to each specific context, thereby increasing the relevance and effectiveness of user profiles.
AgroVila's participation also included moderating a parallel session focussed on Design Thinking, User Engagement, and Collaborative Creativity. This session featured innovative approaches to Design Thinking, user engagement strategies and the role of collaborative creativity in improving user experiences.
Attendance at the HCI International 2024 conference is in line with AgroVila's mission, which seeks to leverage technology to support family farming and short agri-food circuits. The knowledge acquired and shared during this scientific event allows for a better understanding of the needs of the target users: family farmers and consumers. By integrating advanced user involvement methodologies, the aim is to boost the project's impact, ultimately contributing to the sustainable growth of short agri-food circuits.
The future of AgroVila is looking promising. Frequent innovations and the expansion of initiatives shows CEOS.PP's commitment in creating effective, user-centred solutions.
