Cláudia Teixeira, Associate Professor at ISCAP and researcher at CEOS.PP, was one of the participants in the Round Table ‘Current Challenges of Non-Financial Reporting - Regulations & Education’, as part of the 10th GECAMB/P-CSEAR & XXIV Grudis Conference and Doctoral Colloquium.

The researcher addressed the topic of ‘Challenges for Accounting Teaching and the Academic Community’ in the field of Non-Financial Reporting. In her speech, she explored the perspectives of academics and researchers from the Centre for Social and Environmental Accounting Research (CSEAR, UK), namely: ‘accountability based accounting’ proposed by Jesse Dillard & Eija Vinnari; and ‘accountability based education’ defended by Ian Thomson; as well as alternative ways of reflecting and designing solutions to issues and problems in the field of sustainability. Finally, he emphasised the power of civil society to intervene; the reputational and image damage caused by greenwashing practices; and framed the teaching of accounting in these themes.

Moderated by Teresa Eugénio (IPL), the panel included Cláudia Teixeira (ISCAP / CEOS.PP), Márcio Pereira (OCC) and Maria do Céu Silva (Lipor). The event, which took place at EsACT-IPB (Mirandela) between 23 and 25 January 2025, aroused great interest among the participants.
