On 17 April, the Higher Institute of Accounting and Administration of Coimbra (ISCAC) hosted the IDEEA’26 scientific conference – Research, Development, Experience and Academic Exploration, an event that brought together students, lecturers, researchers and professionals to discuss the challenges of innovation, ethics and development in a global context, with a particular focus on business and social sciences.

Organised by CEOS.PP Coimbra, in partnership with ISCAC, the initiative’s main aim was to promote knowledge-sharing and foster critical thinking, bridging the gap between academia and the professional world. The first edition of the event attracted strong support from the academic community, with around 60 participants and over 40 scientific papers presented across nine parallel sessions.

Throughout the day, research findings, practical experiences and emerging trends were presented and discussed in an atmosphere characterised by interdisciplinary dialogue and the exchange of perspectives across different fields of knowledge.

The plenary session featured Professor Isabel Ramos, Associate Professor with tenure in the Department of Information Systems at the University of Minho, who delivered the lecture “Hybrid Systems of Organisational Attention: from Automation to the Expansion of Collective Intelligence”. In her address, the speaker highlighted the growing role of integration between people, artificial intelligence tools and organisational structures in redefining attention processes, understood as the ability to select, prioritise and interpret relevant information.

According to the organisers, this first edition of IDEEA established itself as a significant forum for scientific debate in Coimbra, helping to reinforce the role of the institutions involved in promoting research, innovation and engagement with society.
