The MatActiva – Promotion of Learning in Mathematics Project was present at Open Campus'25 at the Polytechnic Institute of Porto, promoting the ‘Open Challenges 4U2’ activity at the ISCAP stand.

The initiative, which took place on 5 February between 2pm and 6pm, was led by teachers Ana Paula Lopes, Filomena Soares and Maria Paula Nunes, with the collaboration of Filipa Rodrigues and Beatriz Silva, interns at CEOS.PP. The team prepared a diverse set of interactive materials, carefully structured to make learning logical challenges more accessible, intuitive, and engaging.

With the aim of stimulating logical thinking and promoting active student participation, dynamic activities were also integrated through the Wayground platform, providing participants with an immersive, motivating, and enriching experience.

The main purposes of the activity were to publicise the MatActiva Project to the educational community and to promote essential skills in secondary school students, namely critical thinking, logical problem-solving, creativity, persistence and resilience. At the same time, the aim was to encourage collaboration and teamwork.

The strong turnout and high level of interest shown by all participants who visited the ISCAP stand highlighted the positive impact of the initiative, reinforcing the importance of activities that bring mathematics closer to young people in a dynamic and challenging way.
