MIGAP - MigrAtion in Porto
The MIGAP - Migration Trends in Porto project is an action-research project whose main objectives are:
— Characterise and understand the migratory dynamics of migrants living in Greater Porto;
— To learn about their individual and collective experiences, with a view to analysing the challenges faced during the integration process and adaptation strategies;
— Get to know public perceptions of migration and understand how these perceptions affect the integration and well-being of migrants;
— Identify and understand the strategies used in the field by professionals who have direct contact with migrants and their difficulties;
— Propose specific recommendations for public policies that promote equality, diversity and social cohesion in the context of migration in Greater Porto.

Study 1 | Migration Trends in Porto: An Exploratory Analysis
Duration of study 1: March 2024 to December 2024
General Objective:
To characterise the profiles and understand the experiences of migrants living in Greater Porto.
Specific Objective:
— To understand the needs and experiences of migrant populations living in Greater Porto;
— To identify recent migratory patterns of migrants living in Porto;
— To understand the diversity of profiles and integration of migrants living in Porto;
— Understand the challenges faced by migrants during the integration process.
